Our founder
Lúcia Barbosa is undergraduated in Letters (Portuguese) by the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), master in Theory of Literature and Compared Literature by the State University of São Paulo (Unesp) and PhD in Portuguese, Brazilian and Lusophone Afican Studies by the University Paris VIII (France). Her experiences with teaching Portuguese for foreigners began in 1994. Since 2012, she is a professor in the University of Brasília (UnB). She also works as a coordinator for Cátedra Sérgio Vieira de Mello (Acnur) and research for Programs of Masters and PhD.
In 2013, after being contacted by an immigrant who wanted to work and, for that, needed to learn how to speak Portuguese, she had her eyes opened for those people's needs and the specifics of this type of teaching.
